William J. Hogarty
Mr. Hogarty, 78, a resident of Old Bridge for 48 years, died March 13, 2012, at home. He worked as a utility man for Delco Remy, a subdivision of General Motors, in North Brunswick for 35 years before retiring in 1990. Mr. Hogarty then became a part-time associate for Michael Hegarty Funeral Home from 1992 to 2008. He was a member and past president of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, Old Bridge; American Legion Post 91, Mount Carmel, Pa.; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 133, East Brunswick. Mr. Hogarty was predeceased by his brothers, Edward Hogarty and John Hogarty. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Marie (Dooley) Hogarty; a daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Douglas Jones; a granddaughter; and two sisters-in-law, Bernice Hogarty and Mary Ellen Hogarty. Funeral Services were held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment followed at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were under the direction of the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.
