Joan and Bruce Donohue of Old Bridge announce the engagement of their daughter, Kelly Donohue, to Matthew Jarvis, son of Barbara and Glenn Jarvis of Hamden, Conn.

Kelly Donohue, Matthew Jarvis The future bride is a graduate of Old Bridge High School and the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, magna cum laude. She is a project manager with the Greater New York Hospital Association, New York City.

Her fiancé is a graduate of Assumption College, Worcester, Mass., where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and mathematics, and Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, where he earned a master's degree in elementary education. He is a math and science teacher with Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School, Boston.

An October 2010 wedding is planned.
