      • Basket Raffle, sponsored by St. Thomas the Apostle HSA, doors open at 6:45 p.m., event begins at 8 p.m., in the school auditorium, Route 18 south, Old Bridge. Admission is $20; includes coffee, dessert, door-prize entry, four prize-table tickets. Additional raffle tickets available for purchase. Participants may bring food into the event.       Nov. 19-Dec. 6

      • Fresh Pierogi and Blintz Sale, sponsored by St. Stanislaus Kostka Rosary Altar Society, Sayreville. Many varieties of pierogi, including cheese (cottage cheese), potato, potato and cheddar cheese, potato and pot cheese, potato and onion, sauerkraut, sauerkraut and mushroom, potato and sweet cabbage, available. Apple, apricot, blueberry, cherry, strawberry blintzes. Order deadline is Dec. 6. Cost is $4.25 per dozen for pierogi, $4.50 per package of three for blintzes. Church St. New items, housewares to toys; many bids starting below $3. Winners with highest bids will be called to pick up their items after 1 p.m. Nov. 21. Cash or checks accepted.

      • Fall Harvest Tricky Tray, sponsored by Dwight D. Eisenhower Elementary School, doors open at 6:30 p.m., event begins at 7:30 p.m., at the school, 601 Ernston Road, Parlin section of Sayreville. Approximately 100 prize baskets, cash 50/50, Lottery Apron, super raffle. Restaurant will donate 20 percent of each school supporter's check (eat-in or takeout) to the school. Diners must present event flier for donation to count. Guests receive cash for unwanted/broken gold jewelry, coins.       • Cash for Gold, sponsored by the Little House Association, 2-4 p.m., at the Little House, 12 W. George St., South River. Guests invited to bring broken bracelets or necklaces, single earrings, mismatched pieces, other unwanted jewelry. Items tested and weighed; guests offered cash based on market value of gold the day of event. Participants have the right to turn down any offer. Gold company will make a donation to Little House based on the amount of money paid out. Little House provides a meeting and event house for South River and Milltown Girl Scouts.
