Wetlands Association exhibits reckless behavior
      As a member of the Sayreville Environmental Commission, I am enormously proud of our advocacy for the remediation of contaminated sites in the borough. We consider ourselves to be volunteer watchdogs, ensuring the commercial and industrial businesses are good neighbors in Sayreville and that they conduct environmentally friendly practices at every turn.

Derail redevelopment project, lose jobs
      These are serious times to be in the construction industry. The local building trades that serve Sayreville are underemployed, with roughly 35 percent of the membership currently without steady work. Because of the current situation, I am deeply concerned that an environmental group in Edison is trying to block the redevelopment of the former National Lead property.

      On behalf of our 1.4 million members in the Garden State, AARP New Jersey applauds the Senate for passing the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. New Jerseyans should know that both Sens. Frank Lautenberg and Robert Menendez voted in favor of the bill.
