      ROSALIE BACHONSKI, 74, of Sayreville died May 30 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she was employed as a film inspector with E.I. DuPont Photo Products Division, Parlin section of Sayreville, where she worked for 30 years. Her husband, Chester, died in 1985, and a son, Brian, died in 1990. Surviving are a son, Wayne Bachonski of Sayreville; two daughters, Christine Lenart-Mireau of Colts Neck and Diane Duncan of Newtown, Conn.; and nine grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Entombment was in Holy Cross Mausoleum, South Brunswick.

      STEPHEN "JOE" FERENCE, 88, of Sayreville died May 31 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Mary Dombrowiecka Ference; a sister, Elsie Halka of Englishtown; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Bernadette’s Church, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.

      JAMES P. SCULLY SR., 64, of South Amboy died May 30 at home. Prior to his retirement in 1993, he was employed for 35 years as a chemical operator with E.I. DuPont and Co., Parlin section of Sayreville. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Soden Scully; three sons, Robert J. Scully and John J. Scully, both of South Amboy, and James P. Scully Jr. of Canaan, Maine; two brothers, Leo J. Scully of Massillon, Ohio, and J. Kevin Scully of Lancaster, Pa.; two sisters, Elizabeth M. Massing of the Morganville section of Marlboro and Mary Pat Rydzewski of the Parlin section of Sayreville; and five grand­children. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Morgan First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 296, South Amboy, NJ 08879.

      ELEANOR F. BICKEL SMITH SULLIVAN, 83, of South Amboy died May 30 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. She was predeceased by her husbands, Edward Smith and Cornelius Sullivan, and by a daughter, Eleanor Mackiel Iavarone. Surviving are four sons, Edward Smith of South Amboy, Harold Smith of Old Bridge, Warren Smith of Redmond, Wash., and Cornelius Sullivan of Port Jervis, N.Y.; four brothers, Clifford, Edward, Walter and Raymond Bickel; three sisters, Muriel Maers, Lorraine Halloran and Marilyn Strong; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Christ Church Cemetery, South Amboy.
